Brno Schools

Student-athletes joining the Brno Lions have the opportunity to pursue university degrees in English at two respected institutions in the city of Brno: Brno University of Technology (BUT) and Masaryk University (MU). Both universities are located within a short commute of the Lužánky Sports Center, allowing student-athletes to easily balance academics, training, and daily life.

Which school is right for you?
BUT is a great fit for students interested in engineering, technology, or a focused business program within a technical university setting. MU offers a wider range of academic paths, including business and economics, with added flexibility and multiple intake options.

Brno University of Technology (BUT)

Brno University of Technology is a leading technical university in Central Europe, known for its strong emphasis on engineering, innovation, and applied sciences. With a long-standing reputation for academic excellence and close ties to industry, BUT provides students with practical, career-focused education in a dynamic and modern environment.

Brno University of Technology offers five Bachelor’s degree programs taught in English:

Masaryk University (MU)
Masaryk University is one of the Czech Republic’s leading institutions, with over 30,000 students and a strong international presence. MU offers a wide range of degree programs taught in English, including business, economics, and other fields.

Through our partnership with the European Union Collegiate Hockey League (EUCHL), Brno Lions student-athletes can apply to MU’s Business Management and Finance programs, as well as explore additional English-taught programs.

MU offers two enrollment periods each year:
    •    Fall semester (application deadline: April 30)
    •    Spring semester (application deadline: October 15)

Student-athletes may begin competing with the Brno Lions in the fall and start classes in the spring semester if preferred.
