Brno Lions x PHM — Every Home Game Live and Free on YouTube

by Sami Alasmar

Brno Lions team up with Prague Hockey Masters to stream every home game live — and free — on YouTube

Every Brno Lions home game in the inaugural EUCHL season will be broadcast live on YouTube, free to watch for everyone, everywhere. The club has partnered with Prague Hockey Masters (PHM), one of Prague's most established hockey organisers, to produce a full multi-camera broadcast and game-night show for each home game, starting with the home opener on Saturday 17 October at 20:30.

No subscription, no paywall, no sign-up. Fans in Brno, families back home in North America, and anyone following European university hockey can watch at youtube.com/@BrnoHC-lions.

"Our players' families are an ocean away, and our fans are students who shouldn't have to pay to follow their team. Putting every home game on YouTube for free was an easy decision. Partnering with PHM means it will look and feel like real professional hockey." — Sami Al Asmar, General Manager, Brno Lions

Who are PHM?

Prague Hockey Masters, led by CEO Petr Urban, runs the PHM Cup, a multi-division hockey league in Prague with full schedules, standings, player and goalie stats, and weekly round-ups. PHM also organises tournaments and hockey travel events, and produces its own broadcasts on PHM TV, its YouTube channel, including live streams of its playoff finals.

PHM works with the Hero Management System (HMS), the platform that powers its live stats, game sheets and on-screen graphics. The Brno Lions roster is being built in HMS now, so every goal, assist and penalty will feed straight into the broadcast.

Petr visited the Brno arena on 8 October to plan camera positions, the production booth and the opening show with the arena team.

What you'll see

PHM brings its own crew and equipment from Prague to every Brno Lions home game. The production includes:

  • Multi-camera coverage: a manned main camera following the play, plus two zone cameras covering the action at each end. PHM is also planning a referee POV camera for a view from inside the play.
  • Live graphics and stats: score, clock, penalties and player stats on screen, driven by HMS, plus live infographics shared on social media.
  • Full game-night broadcast: custom Brno Lions scenes, intermission content between periods and sponsor spots.
  • A pro-style opening show in the arena: lights down, Lions players introduced one by one by the announcer as they skate out through the Lions entrance with fire effects, then the anthem and a ceremonial puck drop.
  • In-arena production: announcer, music and scoreboard run by the PHM team, so the show in the building matches the show on stream.

How to watch

  1. Go to the Brno Lions YouTube channel: youtube.com/@BrnoHC-lions
  2. Hit Subscribe and turn on notifications so you get an alert when each game goes live.
  3. Tune in a few minutes before puck drop to catch the opening show.

Every home game is free to watch live, and games stay on the channel afterwards so you can catch up on anything you missed. Share the link with family, friends and teammates back home.

See you on Saturday — in the arena or on YouTube. Go Lions!
