BRNO Lions Add South Korean Defenseman Danny Ro

BRNO, Czech Republic — The BRNO Lions are proud to announce the addition of South Korean defenseman Heonwoo “Danny” Ro.

The Seoul native brings an unusually international résumé to BRNO, having developed his game across multiple countries and hockey systems.

Ro spent significant time with Somang Hockey, where Elite Prospects records show extensive experience at the U18 AAA and Prep levels. During the 2022–23 U18 AAA season, he produced 8 goals and 20 assists for 28 points, followed by 19 points in 53 games at the U18 Prep level in 2023–24.

Following his time with Somang, Ro moved overseas to Esbjerg in Denmark before gaining additional junior experience in North America.

The right-shot defenseman has been described as an offensive-minded player who is comfortable carrying the puck, joining the rush and creating opportunities from the blue line. His ability to contribute at forward when needed also provides additional versatility.

Now, his international hockey journey continues in Czechia with the BRNO Lions.
