BRNO Lions Sign Goaltender Matthew Pimentel
BRNO, Czech Republic — The BRNO Lions are proud to announce the signing of Canadian goaltender Matthew Pimentel for the upcoming season.

Pimentel, a native of St-Rémi, Quebec, joins BRNO after playing with the New England Wolves organization. The 2005-born goaltender is listed at 5’10”, 150 lbs, catches left, and most recently appeared on Elite Prospects with the New England Wolves.
Before joining the Wolves, Pimentel developed through Berwick Academy, where he was recognized as an all-conference goaltender. That background gives the Lions another competitive option in goal with experience in both prep and junior hockey environments.

Statistically, Pimentel has shown the ability to provide steady performances in limited junior action. HockeyDB lists him with the New England Wolves in 2025–26, where he appeared in three EHL games, posting a 3-0-0 record, a 2.76 goals-against average, a .907 save percentage, and one shutout.
For BRNO, Pimentel adds depth and competition to the crease. His left-catching profile, junior experience, and previous all-conference recognition make him a strong addition as the Lions continue building their roster for the upcoming season.
The BRNO Lions would like to officially welcome Matthew Pimentel to the organization.
Welcome to BRNO, Matthew. Defend The Den.
