BRNO Lions Sign Defenseman, Jack Huyber

BRNO, Czech Republic — The BRNO Lions are proud to announce the signing of American defenseman Jack Huyber for the upcoming season.

A native of Rochester, Minnesota, Huyber is a 2006-born, 6’3”, 192-pound left-shot defenseman who brings size, strength, and a defensive-first mentality to the Lions’ blue line. He most recently suited up for the Northern Maine Pioneers (NCDC), where he continued to establish himself as a reliable, hard-to-play-against defender.

Standing at 6’3”, Huyber uses his reach effectively to close gaps, disrupt opposing rushes, and win battles along the boards. He plays a simple, intelligent game, making smart first passes out of the defensive zone while providing a steady presence in all situations. His combination of physicality, skating ability, and composure allows him to play significant minutes against quality competition.

Beyond his defensive reliability, Huyber brings the type of work ethic and team-first attitude that fits the culture the BRNO Lions continue to build. He competes hard every shift, sacrifices his body defensively, and consistently puts himself in position to help his teammates succeed.

As the Lions continue assembling a roster built around character, development, and competitiveness, Huyber adds another important piece to the defensive core heading into the new season.

The BRNO Lions are excited to welcome Jack to the organization and look forward to seeing his continued growth in Czech Republic.

Welcome to BRNO, Jack. Defend The Den. 🦁
