BRNO Lions Announce Martin Máša as Assistant Coach


BRNO, Czech Republic — The BRNO Lions are proud to announce that Martin Máša has joined the organization as Assistant Coach for the upcoming season.

Máša brings an extensive professional playing background to the Lions’ coaching staff. A native of Sokolov, Czech Republic, he played as a left winger during a career that spanned from 1991 to 2013, with experience across the Czech Republic, North America, France, and England.  

Throughout his career, Máša played for several well-known organizations, including HC Zetor Brno / HC Kometa Brno, the Kansas City Blades, Springfield Falcons, Saint John Flames, Providence Bruins, Orlando Solar Bears, Greenville Grrrowl, Bracknell Bees, Guildford Flames, and Brûleurs de Loups.  

His North American résumé includes significant time in the ECHL, where he recorded 199 goals, 296 assists, and 495 points in 526 regular-season games. He also added 36 points in 34 playoff games, showing consistent production throughout his professional career.  

Máša also brings championship experience to BRNO. His career accomplishments include winning the Kelly Cup with the Greenville Grrrowl in 2001–02, the Winter Cup with the Bracknell Bees in 2004–05, two Magnus Cup championships with Brûleurs de Loups, the English Cup with Guildford Flames, and the EPIHL Playoff championship with Guildford Flames.  

As Assistant Coach, Máša will work alongside Head Coach Róbert Mokrohajský to help guide the Lions’ player development, team structure, and day-to-day preparation. His professional experience, international hockey background, and championship pedigree will be valuable additions as BRNO enters a new era.
