BRNO Lions Add American Defenseman James Cybart

BRNO, Czech Republic — The BRNO Lions are excited to announce the signing of American defenseman James Cybart for the upcoming season.

A 2006-born defenseman from the United States, Cybart joins the Lions after developing through the North American junior hockey system. Wearing #12, he has built a reputation as a dependable, defense-first blueliner who plays with confidence, consistency, and a strong commitment to the team game.

Cybart’s game is built around reliability. He defends with an active stick, closes gaps effectively, and uses his skating to stay in position against opposing forwards. Calm under pressure, he makes smart decisions with the puck and consistently looks to move play quickly up the ice with clean outlet passes rather than forcing low-percentage plays.

At 2006-born, Cybart continues to develop physically and technically, but already possesses many of the habits coaches look for in a reliable defenseman. His willingness to compete in front of the net, battle along the boards, and sacrifice for his teammates makes him a valuable addition to the Lions’ defensive group.

The BRNO coaching staff believes Cybart’s work ethic, hockey IQ, and team-first mentality fit perfectly with the culture the organization is building. As the Lions continue adding young talent from across North America, James brings another strong piece to a blue line focused on competing every night.

The entire BRNO Lions organization is proud to welcome James to the Czech Republic.

Welcome to BRNO, James. Defend The Den. 🦁
